Fulldev UI is a shadcn-compatible registry, so the official
[shadcn MCP server](https://ui.shadcn.com/docs/mcp) can search, view, and
install `@fulldev` items for any MCP-capable assistant. There is no separate
Fulldev MCP server.

## 1. Add the registry

The MCP server reads registries from `components.json` in your project:

```

If the project does not have a `components.json` yet, follow the
[installation guide](/docs/installation/) first.

## 2. Configure your client

Run the shadcn MCP setup for your client:

npx shadcn@latest mcp init --client claude
npx shadcn@latest mcp init --client cursor
npx shadcn@latest mcp init --client vscode
```

Or add the server manually. For Claude Code, this is `.mcp.json` in the project
root:

```

Cursor uses `.cursor/mcp.json` and VS Code uses `.vscode/mcp.json` with the
same `command` and `args`.

## 3. Ask for Fulldev items

Once connected, the assistant can call the shadcn MCP tools against the
`@fulldev` namespace:

- `get_project_registries` lists the registries in `components.json`.
- `search_items_in_registries` finds items by name or description.
- `view_items_in_registries` shows an item's files and dependencies.
- `get_item_examples_from_registries` returns usage examples.
- `get_add_command_for_items` returns the install command.

Example prompts:

Search the @fulldev registry for pricing blocks.
Install @fulldev/hero-1 and use it on the homepage.
Show me the files in @fulldev/header-4.
```
